| Obverse description | The obverse displays three lines of bold Nasta'liq calligraphy arranged within a plain cartouche framed by two horizontal registers, all enclosed within a prominent pellet border. The central field bears the Shi'a kalima in Arabic, reading 'Ali wali Allah' in the lower register, asserting the divine authority of the Imam. Small floral or rosette ornaments appear as decorative fillers in the field. The entire design is characteristic of late Safavid hammered gold coinage, with the script rendered in high relief against a flat field. |
