Additional information

The Mihrabanids ruled Sistan — the arid basin straddling what is now eastern Iran and southwestern Afghanistan — as a remarkably durable local dynasty that survived by navigating between the Ilkhanids, the Kartids, and eventually the Timurids with calculated submission rather than defiance. Nusrat al-Din Muhammad's reign in the early fourteenth century falls squarely within the period of Ilkhanid fragmentation following the death of Abu Sa'id in 1335, when peripheral dynasties briefly recovered room to maneuver.

Album's attribution A#2354 places this firmly within the documented Mihrabanid silver series, a group not abundantly represented in Western collections.
