Obverse description Draped and crowned bust of King George V facing left, wearing imperial state crown and military uniform with decorations, as modelled by Sir Bertram Mackennal. The legend GEORGE V KING EMPEROR curves along the scalloped border, reading from lower left to upper right. The effigy occupies the central field with fine portrait detail in the monarch's facial features and regalia. The scalloped edge of the coin forms a distinctive twelve-lobed border framing the entire design.
