Reverse description A large quartered royal shield of arms, surmounted by a crown and bearing the arms of England, Scotland, France, and Ireland in the four quarters, is superimposed over the hull and rigging of a three-masted ship viewed from the side. The initial letter I appears to the left of the mast and a rose to the right. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend disposed around the outer field between two beaded borders. A piercing hole is visible at the base of the design, consistent with the obverse piercing.
