| Additional information |
The Angel series has been issued by the Isle of Man since 1984, making it one of the longer-running gold bullion programs in British Crown dependency coinage. Unlike Britannias or Sovereigns, Angels were never granted legal tender status in the United Kingdom proper — their circulation authority extends only to Manx jurisdiction, a distinction that has made them perennial collectors' pieces rather than genuine trade coins. The 40th year of the series carries no particular minting ceremony or commemorative distinction, though longevity alone in the bullion market is commercially meaningful.
