Obverse description Frontal seated figure of the goddess Brihadamba (Amman) depicted in stylized form, shown facing forward in a devotional posture. The deity is rendered with a prominent crown or headdress and simplified facial features characteristic of early South Indian coinage. The design occupies the central field and is executed in low relief typical of hammered copper cash issues. A beaded border encircles the periphery of the coin.
