| Obverse description | Draped and capped bust of Liberty facing left, her cap inscribed LIBERTY, with flowing curled hair cascading over her shoulder. Thirteen six-pointed stars are arranged in an arc encircling the bust, seven to the left and six to the right, within a beaded inner border. The mintmark D appears in small relief to the lower right of the bust truncation. The date 2011 is inscribed in the lower exergue. The design is closely modeled after the classic Capped Bust coinage of the early nineteenth-century United States series. |
