| Obverse description | Quartered shield of arms combining the Palatinate lion and the Bavarian lozengy (fusily) pattern, displayed within a beaded inner circle. The four quarters alternate between a rampant lion and the distinctive Bavarian fusily field, rendered in the late Gothic heraldic style characteristic of early sixteenth-century Rhenish coinage. The encircling legend, separated from the shield by the inner beaded border, reads LVDO. CO. PAL. REDI. P. ELECT., identifying the issuer as Ludwig (Louis V), Count Palatine of the Rhine and Prince Elector. |

| Reverse description | Three small heraldic shields arranged with their bases pointing toward the center, each pair separated by a decorative rosette, forming a symmetrical trilateral composition within the field. The arrangement reflects the multi-territorial authority of the Palatinate electorate, typical of late medieval Rhenish small silver coinage. The encircling legend reads MONET. NOVA. RENENSIS, identifying this as a new monetary issue of the Rhine, with the date of issue appearing at the end of the legend. |
