The effigy shows the ruler with a beard and ruff collar, rendered in a late Renaissance portrait style. The circular legend surrounds the bust in the outer field, reading NOV. ALBVS MANHEIMII CVSVS, referring to the coin as a new Albus struck at Mannheim.
