Obverse description A standing male figure in the classical style, depicted nude with a leaf garland at the hip, faces left in the center of the field, resting his left hand on a long staff or scepter. To his right stands the crowned Danish royal coat of arms, featuring three crowned lions passant above three hearts on a quartered shield surmounted by a royal crown. A mintmaster's initial 'W' appears in the lower right field near the base of the shield. The circular legend MONETA NOV · ARG · REGIS DANIÆ runs along the outer rim, reading 'New silver coin of the King of Denmark.'
