Obverse description Arabic legend in multiple lines occupying the entire field, giving the sultan's name and titulature: Uthman Sultan ibn Ahmed Han, followed by the pious formula 'Azze Nasruhu' ('May he be victorious'). The inscription is rendered in stylised Ottoman calligraphy typical of small hammered silver akçe coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, consistent with hand-struck production. No figurative imagery is present, in accordance with Islamic numismatic tradition.
