| Obverse description | Central field bearing a three-line Arabic Kalima (shahada) inscription in angular Kufic-influenced script, closely resembling the formulaic religious legend employed on Ilkhanid issues of the same period. The text is arranged horizontally across the flan within a plain inner border. A secondary line of Arabic numerals or additional inscription appears in the lower register. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded or rope-pattern circular border, characteristic of contemporaneous Anatolian and Mongol-influenced coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, consistent with hand-struck hammered production. |

The Anatolian beyliks emerged from the fragmentation of Seljuk authority following the Mongol victory at Köse Dağ in 1243, and anonymous silver issues from this period present persistent attribution problems that remain unresolved in the literature. Without a ruler's name, assigning a piece to a specific principality — Germiyan, Saruhan, Karesi, or any of a dozen others — depends almost entirely on findspot data, which for the commercial market is rarely documented.
