| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend arranged in a square or near-square kufic-influenced script, with bold, angular characters typical of 12th-century Qarakhanid copper coinage. The inscription fills the field in several horizontal lines, conveying the ruler's name and titles. A circular marginal legend in Arabic script runs within a plain raised border along the coin's periphery. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, characteristic of hammered copper dirhams of the period. The overall style reflects the epigraphic coinage tradition prevalent in Transoxiana under the Western Qarakhanids. |
