| Reverse description | The reverse is entirely covered with a dense multi-line Arabic inscription in naskh script arranged across three horizontal registers within the coin's field. The legend comprises the Shi'a Islamic profession of faith and the names of the Twelve Imams: beginning with the Shahada ('La ilaha ill-Allah, Muhammad rasul Allah, Ali wali Allah') and continuing with the names Ali, Hasan, Husayn, Ali, Muhammad, Ja'far, Musa, Ali, Muhammad, Ali, Hasan, and Muhammad. The surrounding border mirrors the obverse, featuring an interlocking foliate and rosette ornamental band. The dense calligraphic composition filling the entire flan is a hallmark of Safavid abbasi coinage, reflecting the dynasty's Twelver Shi'a religious identity. |
