| Obverse description | Persian legend in Nasta'liq script arranged in three horizontal bands across the field, reading: 'The coin struck gold the name of sovereignty in the world — Nader, the land of Iran, and the Khosrow, the world-conqueror — struck at Mashhad.' The inscription comprises the ruler's full royal titulature and mint signature, executed in bold calligraphic strokes characteristic of Afsharid coinage. The coin bears an irregular flan with a beaded border around the periphery, typical of hammered production of the period. The legends are deeply struck and fill the entire obverse field with no central figurative device. |
