| Obverse description | The obverse presents a bold Arabic legend in characteristic Qajar calligraphic style, arranged in two registers separated by a horizontal line across the field. The upper register bears the name and title of the ruler in large, deeply struck script, while the lower register continues the royal epithet. The legend reads 'Al-Sultan Fath 'Ali Qajar,' rendered in a robust nasta'liq-influenced hand. The field is adorned with floral and foliate ornamental devices at the periphery, consisting of pellet rosettes and stylised blossoms. A post-mint hole is visible at the left side of the flan, indicating later use as a pendant or ornament. |
