Reverse description The reverse is entirely occupied by the Shia Islamic profession of faith (shahada) rendered in bold thuluth script, disposed across the field in multiple registers separated by a horizontal ruled line. The upper portion carries the first part of the formula affirming the oneness of God and the prophethood of Muhammad, while the lower register bears the Alid declaration recognising Ali as the friend of God (walī Allāh), a hallmark of Safavid Twelver Shia coinage. A dotted inner border frames the legend, partially visible at the periphery of the irregularly shaped flan. The script is deeply struck in high relief, with the characteristic angular and rounded forms of thuluth calligraphy. The AH date numerals are partially visible at the base of the coin.
