Obverse description Hammered silver flan bearing a bold Persian inscription in naskh script arranged in two or three registers across the field, naming the ruler Shah Abbas I as servant of the Shah of Guardianship (Bande-ye Shah-e Velayat Abbas) along with the mint name Urdu and the regnal year. The legend is set within a beaded circular border that follows the irregular outline of the coin. The script is deeply struck, with characteristic Safavid calligraphic style, though strike and flan irregularities are evident throughout the field.
