Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, the Schleswig arms depicted as a rampant lion facing left, rendered in a bold relief characteristic of early seventeenth-century hammered coinage. The surrounding legend, broken by the beaded border, reads the ducal titles of Friedrich III in abbreviated Latin. The overall design is compact and slightly irregular, consistent with hand-struck production of the period.
