Obverse description A scallop shell rendered in low relief occupies the central field, depicted in a naturalistic style with clearly defined radiating ribs extending from the hinge to the outer edge of the valve. The shell is shown face-on with the hinge at the base, the ribbing fanning outward in a symmetrical arrangement typical of Iberian bronze coinage of the Edetani region. The fields are plain and uninscribed, consistent with the small fractional denomination. The style is bold and schematic, characteristic of the Arse-Saguntum mint's local engraving tradition.
