Obverse description Central field displays the elaborate quartered coat of arms of the Bishopric of Passau, surmounted by a bishop's mitre and crossed crosier and sword, all within an ornate baroque cartouche featuring scrollwork and acanthus leaf decoration. Below the shield, a secondary escutcheon bears the Firmian family arms depicting deer passant on a grassy ground. The milled coin edge frames the design cleanly. The bifurcated legend NON VI SED AMORE ('Not by force, but by love') is divided across the left and right fields flanking the central arms.
