Obverse description Draped bust of Georg Rudolf, Duke of Liegnitz-Brieg, facing slightly to the right, rendered in high relief in the hammered style characteristic of mid-17th century Silesian coinage. The duke is depicted with a moustache and goatee, wearing an elaborately ornamented mantle with a lace collar and a decorative chain across his chest. A cap or bonnet adorns the top of his head. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading D.G. GEORG. RUDOLPH. DUX. SIL. LIG. BREG & GOLDBE., separated from the portrait by an inner beaded border. The coin's outer rim bears fine milling.
