| Obverse description | Central device consisting of a quartered heraldic shield displaying the multiple territorial arms of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, including rampant lions, a horse passant, and chequered quarters, arranged within a decorative cartouche. The surrounding circular legend reads FRIDERIC VLRIC D G DVX BRV ET L in Latin, identifying the ruler Frederick Ulrich by name and title. The lettering is separated by small ornamental stops and runs clockwise along the coin's periphery.
