Obverse description Draped bust of the young Elector Christian II facing right, wearing armour with a ruffled collar and a beaded gorget, with the Saxon electoral shield displayed at the base of the bust. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the effigy within a beaded border. The portrait is rendered in the vigorous late Renaissance hammered style typical of Dresden Mint coinage of the period.
