Reverse description Central design features a mantled oval escutcheon bearing the manifold quartered arms of the Saxon duchies, rendered in fine detail with heraldic precision. A ducal crown surmounts the shield and divides the date across the upper field. A small oval cartouche in the lower portion of the field displays the denomination numeral 1/8, indicating the fractional value of the piece. The entire composition is contained within a beaded border consistent with the milled coinage of the period.
