| Obverse description | Elaborately quartered coat of arms of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel surmounted by a crowned double-headed eagle displayed, the shield bearing multiple heraldic quarters including lions rampant, a horse passant, and other dynastic charges, all within an ornate cartouche with foliate mantling. The circular Latin legend reads D G.AVGVSTVS WILHELMVS DVX.BR&LVN with the date 1715, running along the outer border. The overall composition is rendered in a baroque style typical of early eighteenth-century German princely coinage. |
