| Obverse description | Central field displays the arms of Nijmegen — an eagle displayed — set within a beaded inner circle. The civic heraldic device is rendered in the crude, bold style characteristic of late medieval Low Countries municipal coinage. A circular legend in uncial Latin characters surrounds the central device, reading MONETA NOVA NOVIMAGE (New money of Nijmegen). The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, consistent with hammered billon production of the period. |

| Reverse description | A plain long cross divides the reverse field into four quarters, each containing a small heraldic or decorative symbol typical of Gelderland municipal issues of the early sixteenth century. The cross extends to the beaded inner circle, a standard device on contemporary Low Countries small billon coinage. A surrounding circular legend in uncial Latin reads PAX SIT SEP NOB S T E N, abbreviated from the pious invocation meaning 'May peace always be with us'. The overall execution is rough, reflecting the small module and low-value character of this denomination. |
