Obverse description Central field displays a crowned heraldic shield bearing the quartered arms of Gelderland and Jülich, rendered in low relief characteristic of hammered billon coinage of the early sixteenth century. The shield is surmounted by a ducal crown. A circular legend in uncial characters surrounds the central device, reading the ruler's titulature. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with weak strike visible at the margins. Overall execution is consistent with minor denomination coinage of the Duchy of Guelders under Duke Charles of Egmont.
