Obverse description Central field dominated by a floriated cross of Venetian style, its four arms terminating in elaborate foliate and lily-like ornaments, set within a beaded inner circle. The cross is rendered in high relief consistent with hammered coinage technique. A Latin legend in abbreviated form encircles the periphery between the beaded border and the coin edge, identifying the Doge. A mintmaster's mark appears at the base of the cross within the inner circle.
