Reverse description The enthroned Madonna is depicted facing slightly left, holding the Christ Child on her left arm in a devotional composition consistent with the traditional Genoese Marian iconography. The date and mint-master initials appear integrated within the surrounding circular legend. The legend DG·REGE·EOS· (from the Psalm 'Deus, rege eos') frames the upper portion, with the year 1653 and the mintmaster initials I·A·B· following, and the denomination numeral VIII appearing at the base of the reverse in the exergue area.
