Additional information

Kishangarh's regal-style issues of the late 1920s and 1930s were struck under the authority of Yagya Narayan Singh, who ruled the state from 1926 until its eventual integration into Rajasthan. Like most princely states operating under paramountcy, Kishangarh retained the right to coin but was required to acknowledge imperial suzerainty — hence the dual attribution pairing a local ruler with the reigning British monarch. By the 1930s, the Government of India was actively pressuring smaller states to abandon independent coinage altogether, making this among the final issues the mint produced.
