Obverse description Three lines of Persian script fill the central field, reading 'Sikka Badshah Alamgir' with the regnal year '1172' (AH) prominently displayed at the top. The inscription is arranged in horizontal registers and executed in a bold, angular Naskh style characteristic of late Mughal coinage. Small floral or dot ornaments punctuate the spaces between lines, adding decorative detail. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded circle, beyond which the milled edge is visible.
