| Obverse description | Central device depicting a stylized castle or tower set within a radiating sunburst of multiple diverging rays, symbolizing progress and civic pride. The design is rendered in low relief with a somewhat crude, hand-crafted aesthetic typical of Mexican municipal emergency coinage of the mid-19th century.
