Obverse description Central field bearing a multi-line Devanagari inscription arranged in a square format, referencing the royal name and titles of King Surendra Vikrama Sha. The legend is set within a plain inner border, itself encircled by a raised beaded outer border running the full circumference of the coin. The script is rendered in the bold, angular style characteristic of Nepalese hammered gold coinage of the nineteenth century.
