Reverse description A square frame, formed by Gothic quatrefoil lobed arches, divides the inner field into four compartments, each containing alternating dolphins and fleurs-de-lis set within small circular lobes, reflecting the heraldic symbolism of the Dauphiné. The overall composition is highly stylized in the late medieval feudal tradition. A continuous Latin legend in uncial script encircles the design within a beaded border, completing the title of the issuer as Dauphin of Viennois.
