Obverse description The date 1747 occupies the entire field, rendered in large incuse-style numerals arranged in a two-by-two block format with '17' in the upper half and '47' in the lower half. The figures are boldly struck in a primitive, angular style characteristic of VOC-era cast tin coinage produced for Ceylon. The coin features a plain raised rim encircling the date, with no additional legend or ornamental device present in the field.
