| Obverse description | A large imperial crown appears at the top of the field, flanking the divided date (16 - 96) to either side. Below the crown, two oval shields each bearing a double-headed eagle are displayed side by side, joined by ornamental scrollwork. The denomination numeral '8' appears in the lower exergue area beneath the shields, indicating the one-eighth value. The overall design is framed by a fine milled or grained border, characteristic of late 17th-century Habsburg coinage from the Breslau mint. |
