| Obverse description | Typical Fatimid concentric design struck in hammered gold, featuring multiple circular bands of Arabic Kufic legend radiating outward from a central raised boss. The innermost field displays a small pellet or annulet at center, surrounded by a beaded inner circle, followed by a ring of radiating petals or lobe-shaped ornaments forming a rosette motif. Successive concentric bands carry the religious inscription, separated by raised linear borders. The outermost legend band is bounded by a plain outer rim, the overall flan exhibiting the characteristic irregular profile of hammered medieval Islamic coinage. |
