Obverse description The note is printed in purple and black on cream paper, divided into three vertical panels with ornate scroll borders. The central panel carries an intaglio-style portrait vignette of Field Marshal Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher, Prince of Wahlstatt, shown in full hussar uniform with decorations and sash, set against a purple arabesque underprint. The left panel bears the payment text in Gothic blackletter script alongside the denomination numeral '1,50' in an ornamental cartouche, while the right panel mirrors the denomination with the payable inscription and a serial number, with the designer's name 'W. H. Lippat' inscribed in the lower right of the central frame.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in purple and black on cream paper, dominated by a large central vignette in bold woodcut-engraving style illustrating the fall of Blücher at the Battle of Ligny, with the field marshal unhorsed and surrounded by cavalry in the chaos of battle, signed 'W. H. Lippat' within the scene. Vertical purple side panels flank the composition, the left bearing a Prussian eagle device and crossed swords, the right carrying the denomination '1,50' within a decorative bracket. A caption cartouche below the central scene names the depicted event, and the printer's registration mark appears beneath the lower border.
