Obverse description Central legend within a beaded oval cartouche, bearing the royal name and titles of Sultan Ahmad Shah Qajar in flowing Nastaliq script. The cartouche is framed by a wreath of oak leaves and acorns extending symmetrically to either side, with the mint name Tehran rendered in Arabic script at the base of the design. The field between the wreath and the milled border is plain, accentuating the calligraphic inscription at the centre. The overall composition is characteristic of late Qajar dynastic coinage, emphasising regal titulature over portraiture.
