(Translation: The auspicious coin of the victorious Emperor Shah Jahan, (AH) 1131, 5 (1/5th rupee).)
Reverse description Central field bearing a multi-line Persian legend in Naskh script reading 'Zarb Munbai sanat 1 julus maimanat manus', indicating the Bombay mint and the first regnal year of the reign, expressed in the traditional Mughal format of auspicious epithets. The inscription is arranged in curved registers typical of Mughal fractional coinage, with bold calligraphic strokes and small pellet ornaments separating the lines. The flan is small and slightly irregular, consistent with hammered production at the Bombay Presidency mint.
