Obverse description Central field features a full-colour photographic depiction of Neuschwanstein Castle set against an autumn landscape, with forested mountains and a lake visible in the background. The castle is rendered in vivid detail, showcasing its Romanesque Revival architecture with turrets, towers, and terracotta-coloured lower structures. The coloured central image is framed by a raised decorative border of stylised battlements and arrow motifs in the coin's native copper-nickel finish. The legend NEUSCHWANSTEIN arcs along the upper right portion of the inner border in raised Latin letters, while ESPAÑA 2023 is inscribed along the lower rim in a recessed cartouche.
