Reverse description The reverse of the Spanish 4 Reales de Vellón host coin displays a crowned royal shield of Spain, elaborately rendered with heraldic detail, and encircled by a Latin legend identifying the ruler as King of Spain and the Indies. The mint mark (M for Madrid) and assayer's initial (A or I) appear flanking the denomination numeral 4 and the mark R for Reales. The shield design is characteristic of the Intrusive period coinage issued under Joseph Bonaparte.
