Obverse description Crowned interlaced AR cypher of Elector Frederick August I occupies the central field, with the date divided to either side (17 - 09). The mintmaster's initials EPH appear in the exergue below the monogram. The design is rendered in a bold, slightly archaic style typical of early 18th-century Saxon coinage.
