| Obverse description | Central field bears the royal arms of Augustus III, comprising a quartered shield displaying the Polish eagle and Lithuanian Pahonia, surmounted by an electoral crown of Saxony. The shield is flanked by elaborate Baroque scrollwork and acanthus foliate ornaments, with heraldic supporters rendered in high relief. Four crowned shields are disposed in the angles of the composition. The mint initial 'C' (for Grünthal) appears at the bottom of the field. The coin border is formed by a continuous milled denticle pattern. |
