| Obverse description | Central field features a large circular cartouche containing the tughra-style royal cipher of Imam Ahmad in bold Arabic calligraphy. Surrounding the central device, Arabic inscriptions fill the field in multiple registers, including the mint name Sanaa (صنعا) and the regnal titulature of the Imam. The legends are arranged in the traditional Islamic calligraphic style characteristic of Yemeni Mutawakkilite coinage. |
