Reverse description The reverse displays a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged across the field, reading the pious legend 'Azze Nasrühu' (May God make him victorious) alongside the mint name İslambol and the regnal year. The AH date 1203 appears prominently at the base of the design, with the regnal year 9 incorporated into the upper portion of the legend. The bold, deeply struck Arabic calligraphy fills the flan in the manner characteristic of Ottoman gold coinage struck at the İslambol mint during the reign of Selim III. The granular, slightly convex flan surface and slightly irregular outline are consistent with the hammered technique employed at this mint.
