Obverse description Central field features two intertwined dragons rendered in high relief, their scaled bodies coiling dynamically within a beaded inner circle. Chinese and Korean Hangul inscriptions are arranged in the four quadrants between the beaded border and the outer toothed rim, reading the Joseon founding year (Gaeuk era date) and the denomination. The Latin legend '1/4 YANG' appears in the lower exergue, separated by a small bullet point on each side. Four bullet separators are evenly spaced around the coin between the legends and the milled rim, giving the design a balanced, formal appearance typical of late 19th-century East Asian milled coinage.
