| Reverse description | The reverse bears a multi-line Arabic legend in Nasta'liq script filling the entire field, proclaiming the mint name and Hijri date. A dotted or beaded border encircles the legend, characteristic of Qajar hammered gold coinage from the Yazd mint. The inscription identifies the mint as Dar al-'Ibada (Yazd) and records the regnal year 1212 AH. The strike is bold and the calligraphy is well-executed, though the flan shows slight irregularity at the edges as is typical of hammered production. The reverse layout follows the standard formula employed at provincial Qajar mints of this era. |
