Reverse description Central field occupied by a large Imperial double-headed eagle displayed, its two heads surmounted by a single elaborate crown with ornamentation, rendered in bold hammered relief typical of late 16th-century German coinage. The eagle is contained within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding Latin legend, reading continuously around the coin between the beaded inner circle and a toothed outer border, names Emperor Rudolf II as Roman Emperor, with the mint date partially visible at the top of the legend.
